AACN Advanced Critical Care is seeking manuscripts on topics of interest to experienced nurse clinicians—those with more than 7 years of experience—clinical educators, and/or advanced practice nurses who care for critical or acute care patients. Submissions will be peer-reviewed.

Feature articles should emphasize recent research findings, evidence-based practice (EBP) information, and innovative approaches (when appropriate) for all ages of critically and acutely ill populations. We are interested in receiving papers from a range of critical care topics, including (but not limited to):

  • Advanced clinical care (eg, disease management and prevention, assessment and monitoring, application of critical care technologies, hemodynamic monitoring, advanced ventilation modes)

  • Pharmacology

  • Transitions of care including between levels of care, palliative, and end-of-life care

  • Prevention and management of complications in the critically ill (eg, deep vein thrombosis, pneumonia, gastrointestinal dysfunction, hospital-acquired infections, delirium)

  • Emerging infectious disease and inflammatory conditions including cellular...
