Since 1990, when the Human Genome Project was initiated, the amount of genetic informatiun on the World Wide Web (WWW) has grown substantially. The WWW has become an Important resource for current, accurate, and reliable genetic Information for health care professionals and the general public. The purpose of this article is to provide a variety of genetics-related WWW sites that are useful for ail levels of practitioners interested in genetics. In selecting sites to be included in this article, a number of evaluation tools were reviewed. The primary concern was that these sites be reputable and provide accurate, timely information. A table of the WWW sites is included for quick, easy reference.
