Thanks to a state-of-the-art, Internet-based system called Essentials of Critical Care Orientation (ECCO), which is now deployed at more than 100 sites in the United States and in 2 countries internationally, nurses can get economical, required training that is available at a time of their choosing.
ECCO consists of content modules presented in a body systems approach with accompanying examinations that verify a nurse’s level of concept mastery. The program’s management tools enable nurse managers and educators to track users’ progress through every module and review a variety of reports. The system, considered a “gold standard” of critical care nursing information, is continually reviewed and updated by the American Association of Critical-Care Nurses.
