Thank you so much for publishing the article “One Hospital’s Experience With a CCRN Drive” (February 2004:46–52). I am an RN with 6 years critical care experience who is preparing for the CCRN examination for the first time. I and a handful of coworkers share a vision of creating a workplace that values nursing excellence and fosters an atmosphere of learning. Although we have committed to preparing for and passing the CCRN examination, we have lacked guidance in encouraging other RNs to pursue certification. My hospital has not promoted certification in the past, but that is changing. We have been provided with new education materials and a CCRN review course. This is a good start, though we have far to go, and your article provides some much needed encouragement in the pursuit of our goals.
