Papers are invited for Critical Care Nurse, a peer-reviewed journal. Critical Care Nurse publishes papers in all areas of high acuity, progressive, and critical care; however, the following topics have been identified by the American Association of Critical-Care Nurses as critical care nurses’ top 10 concerns (in alphabetical order):
Deep venous thrombosis
End-of-life/Palliative care
Family-centered care, including family presence and open visitation
Health care–associated infections, including catheter-related bloodstream infections, catheter-related urinary tract infections, ventilator-associated pneumonia, and surgical site infections
Healthy work environments
Multidrug-resistant organisms
Pain and sedation management, including assessment scales
Patient safety, including communication hand-offs, medication safety (eg, safe anticoagulant administration, medication reconciliation), fall prevention, and intra/interhospital transportation and monitoring
Progressive mobility
Wound care and pressure ulcer prevention
