Papers are invited for Critical Care Nurse, a peer-reviewed journal. Critical Care Nurse publishes papers in all areas of high acuity, progressive, and critical care; however, the following topics have been identified by the American Association of Critical-Care Nurses as critical care nurses’ top 10 concerns (in alphabetical order):

  • Deep venous thrombosis

  • End-of-life/Palliative care

  • Family-centered care, including family presence and open visitation

  • Health care–associated infections, including catheter-related bloodstream infections, catheter-related urinary tract infections, ventilator-associated pneumonia, and surgical site infections

  • Healthy work environments

  • Multidrug-resistant organisms

  • Pain and sedation management, including assessment scales

  • Patient safety, including communication hand-offs, medication safety (eg, safe anticoagulant administration, medication reconciliation), fall prevention, and intra/interhospital transportation and monitoring

  • Progressive mobility

  • Wound care and pressure ulcer prevention

Critical Care Nurse is also interested in receiving papers on the following topics:
