Care at the Close of Life is a compilation of revised and updated original articles from JAMA’s “Perspectives on Care at the Close of Life” series. Each chapter starts with case vignettes, examples of dialogue, key terms in a glossary, and boxes and tables to support communication and clinical decisions. The goal with this JAMA series has been to cover communication issues along with symptom and disease management and psychological, spiritual, social, and ethical issues. The chapters include multiple references and self-assessment questions. This book would be especially helpful for practitioners new to palliative care.
