I started college as a business major. I have 2 older sisters, one in business and one in nursing. I listened to their stories about their workplaces, and after 1 year of college I changed my major to nursing. I wanted to make a difference in someone’s life every day. Before working in critical care, I worked in oncology, rehabilitation, and management. One day I saw a critical care nurse in action. She was handling a medical emergency so quickly and efficiently, smiling and comforting the patient and family members. I knew then that I wanted to be that person.
I absolutely love my coworkers. They are an amazing group of people who set aside their problems and issues to care so well for our patients. I have seen coworkers pray with family members and I have prayed at morning huddles for a coworker’s family. It is wonderful to know...
