I have always been surrounded by health care professionals in my family. I wasn’t sure what I wanted to do when I went to college and my parents helped me choose nursing. As soon as I started working as an ICU nurse at Keck Hospital of USC, there was no doubt in my mind that this was what I was meant to do.
Nursing is a very fulfilling career. I know I can make a difference for my patients and their families. Attending to my patients’ needs, advocating for them, and collaborating with the rest of the health care team humble me and make me proud at the same time. Also, no matter how busy I am, I know I will be OK because I have the support of my amazing coworkers. Together we form a team strong enough to take on any challenge day after day.
