In the April article by Smithburger et al, “Alteplase Treatment of Acute Pulmonary Embolism in the Intensive Care Unit” (Crit Care Nurse. 2013; 33[2]:17–27), there was an error on page 21 in the paragraph about systemic thrombolytic therapy. The correct sentence should read: “In CDT, the thrombolytic agent is administered directly into the pulmonary artery via a pulmonary artery catheter; the thrombolytic agent is administered with full-dose heparin.”
