Chronic illness is a fact in the health care community. This book is divided into 2 sections: impact of chronic illness on patient and family and impact on the system. Many texts focus on specific disease management; however, this book focuses on the issues that face a patient and family with any diagnosis with long-term management needs, including spirituality and palliative care. In each chapter, the author introduces the topic, suggests interventions, identifies outcomes, and provides references for supporting evidence.
