CAVU has been demonstrated to be a therapeutic intervention for certain critically compromised patients. The objectives of this therapy can be achieved if nurses and physicians are aware of the procedural considerations before, during, and after therapy that enhance effective management. Continuing in-service education, established departmental protocols, and comprehensive guidelines for monitoring are not only extremely helpful but necessary to assure quality patient care.
